Our Framework: Beyond D&I
Our framework allows your organisation to obtain additional performance through building a sustainable inclusive culture, allowing you simultaneously to cover the important Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), as well as addressing the Social Mandate of your organisation as part of the ESG framework.

We use the framework that was developed by Kay Formanek, in tight collaboration with our Director Dirk Luyten, resulting in Dirk being invited by Kay to write the official introduction to the book. This framework has been used by more than 50 affiliates.
Beyond D&I: The Five Elements
With today’s stakeholder expectations of Purpose and Sustainability, focusing on Diversity & Inclusion alone is insufficient. Leaders need to include Equity, Leadership and Purpose. Together they form DIELP – the five elements of the Virtuous Circle. . This is an integrated approach to diversity. When all five elements are “circled” through the organisation, horizontally and vertically, the organisation creates a shared ambition for better organisational performance based on DIELP, as five mutually reinforcing elements in a Virtuous Circle.
Our Diversity Maturity Model: The Five Stages
Our maturity model assesses and guides your progress in integrating D&I into your culture and operations.

Stage 1 Legal Compliance:
The organisation adopts measures to manage diversity as a legal and regulatory requirement.
Stage 2 Stakeholder Requirements:
The organisation meets the diversity requirements of its employees and other stakeholders.
Stage 3 Organisational Performance:
The organisation utilises diversity for creating additional business performance.
Stage 4 Reinvention:
Investments in diversity enables “breakthrough” thinking, agility and reinvention in products and services.
Stage 5 Societal Value:
Diversity investment supports broader societal impact in an organisation’s ecosystem and the markets it functions in.
The maturity model guides the development of the six core diversity capabilities, providing a systematic, structured and measurable approach to your D&I Journey.
The 6 Diversity Capabilities
Through extensive research and applied learnings from guiding multiple organisations, the framework has identified six key diversity capabilities to close Diversity Performance gaps. By following our framework, we enable organisations to streamline resources to focus on what moves the needle in diversity.
The six capability areas are:
Click on each of the dropdowns to find out more:
Mitigate Bias
Addressing implicit and explicit biases – wherever they occur in your organisation.
Build Case
Knowing how to build business cases to support the ROI is vital in getting management support and maintaining accountability.
Embed Behaviour
Role-modelling change starts with diversity leaders and ripples out to the organisation.
Harness Policies
Making policies, procedures and other company processes equitable, valued and equally accessible.
Measure and Monitor
Measure and monitor your progress in embedding DIELP, and checking performance against Diversity Standards.
Celebrate and Sustain
In a diversity journey, continuously growing appreciation of diversity in the organisation sustains momentum, and grows a unity in purpose.

These six capabilities are interdependent and work together. If one area is missing, it undermines the effectiveness of the other five.
In a typical engagement, the organisation will be reviewed for the maturity level for each of these 6 competency areas and will be provided with recommendations on how to progress them to their desired target Stage.
The six capabilities, together with the Virtuous Circle of DIELP, form the Integrated Diversity Model. It helps organisations develop an integrated approach to diversity that combines all the necessary elements and capabilities for effective Diversity Performance.
